Location

Garston is nestled between Speke, Allerton, Aigburth, Grassendale and Woolton. The area shares its L19 postcode with parts of Allerton, Grassendale and Aigburth; very affluent areas. So, a key selling point for Garston is that it boasts the L19 postcode but its properties don’t carry the same price tag as the rest of the area. Another huge benefit of Garston is that it’s a stone’s throw (almost literally) from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

Transport Links

Right on the doorstep of the airport, Garston is better connected than most other areas of the city.

Its station, Liverpool South Parkway, serves the airport, so it’s one of Liverpool’s largest, most well-connected train stations, with six platforms, a bus station, taxi rank, car park, bicycle storage, café and passenger lounge.

  • All major Liverpool stations can be accessed from South Parkway on Liverpool’s underground line; it’s essentially Liverpool’s version of the Metro!
  • Trains to Southport run every 15 minutes, making stops at all major stations, including Liverpool city centre.
  • Trains to London run every half hour
  • With a quick change at Liverpool Lime Street Station, you can also get to Nottingham, Norwich, Manchester Oxford Road, Manchester Airport and more!

Commuting to Liverpool City Centre from Garston is easy by car, train or frequent and numerous buses.

Employment Options

There are no shortage of large employers in Garston and the surrounding areas. The New Mersey Shopping Park is in neighbouring Speke, as is Jaguar Land Rover, which employs around 4000 people. The Estuary Commerce Park , Garston Dock, Speke DVSA Centre (driving centre) and, of course, Liverpool John Lennon Airport and accompanying hotel chains are within easy reach.

With this many employment options, there is no shortage of demand from professional tenants in Garston!

Demographics

Garston is an old-school, hard working docking town, and this is reflected in the demographic of its residents. A small dock was first built here in 1793 for Blackburne’s Saltworks. Today, it still stands and it’s still functional!  The Port of Garston has a pretty interesting history.

The majority of properties in the area are large, traditional Victorian houses with 3-4 storeys. Many of these buildings, including ones along the high street with shop-fronts on the ground floors, are still being developed. We’re sure, as an investor this news piques your interest, and it should – there’s definitely still opportunity to ride the wave upwards.
